It’s a special laboratory for testing motorcycle emissions on the basis of both running mode and idle mode. An independent air-conditioning system was installed in the laboratory to meet the requirements of test environmental temperatures 20℃~30℃ stipulated in China’s national standard.

The laboratory is equipped with a DPC-1 dynamometer made by Tianjin Keda Instrumentation CO., a chassis dynamometer made by German Siemens CO., diluted exhaust gas measuring system & gas analyzer (AMA4000) made by German Pierburg CO., and diluted exhaust gas measuring system & gas analyzer (SIGS 504) made by German Siemens CO. Test conditions are up to stipulations in GB14622-2002, GB17186-2002, GB14621-2002 & 97/24/EEC C5.

Emissions can be tested on chassis dynamometer for all kinds of two-wheeled, three-wheeled motorcycles and mopeds with standard mass less than 400 kg, max power less then 37 kW, max speed 120 km/h. Many modes for resistance settings can be adopted to complete all performances tests for motorcycles. Gas analyzer is equipped with some different Venturi tubes with flow rate 2, 4, 6, 8 m3/min respectively, flow rates can be changed or combined into different ones according to tested motorcycle engine displacements to sample gas. CO & CO2 in AMA4000 & SIGS 504 gas analyzers are respectively analyzed by non spectrometric infrared analyzer (IRD) & non dispersive infrared analyzer (NDIR), HC is analyzed by hydrogen ion flame analyzer, and NOx is analyzed by chemical luminous analyzer (CLD).
